Privacy statement

Blue Merlin BV considers careful handling of your data important. This statement explains which personal data we process through this website, why we do so, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Which data we process

If you complete the quote form, we receive:

• your name and email address; we need these in order to respond to your request
• your phone number and company name, if you provide them
• the details of your packaging request: type, dimensions, quantity, specification and your message
• whether you would like to receive the packaging documentation, if you tick that box
• your IP address, which is sent along when you submit the form, in order to prevent misuse and spam

Each time you visit this website, our hosting provider records technical data, such as your IP address, the type of browser and the time of your visit. This is necessary to operate and secure the website.

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking software. We do not monitor your behaviour on the site.

The two tools on this site

This website offers two tools: the packaging register and the box size calculator. Whatever you enter there stays in your own browser and is never sent to us.

• The packaging register only stores your input if you choose "Save my input in this browser". Your input is then kept in your browser's local storage, so your work is still there on a later visit. This is not a cookie and nothing is sent to a server. The "Clear all" button removes it; it also disappears if you clear your browser's site data.
• The box size calculator stores nothing. If you choose "Copy shareable link", the dimensions you entered are contained in that link. If you share it, you share those dimensions.

What we use them for and on what legal basis

We use your data solely to assess your request, send you a quote and discuss your packaging with you. We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.

• If you are a sole trader or request a quote in your own name, we process your data in order to respond to your request and, where relevant, to prepare an agreement with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• If you request a quote on behalf of a business, we process your data as a contact person on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• We process the technical visit data and the IP address sent with the form on the basis of our legitimate interest in a secure website free of spam (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep them

Requests that do not lead to an order are deleted twelve months after your last contact with us. If a request leads to an order, we keep the data for seven years, because the law requires us to keep our records for that long. Technical visit data is visible to us for one day; after that it is deleted from our hosting overview.

Who we share them with

To operate the form and keep the website available, we use two service providers:

• Web3Forms (Web3Creative, India) forwards the completed quote form to our email address and stores it on our behalf. To keep out spam, Web3Forms may have your IP address and email address checked by the spam filters CleanTalk and Akismet.
• This website is managed and hosted by our website administrator JLC Consultatie BV, with the hosting provider Vercel Inc. (United States). The technical visit data is processed in the course of this.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Web3Forms. Web3Forms may only use your data on our instructions.

In the process, data is transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area. For India and the United States, the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission apply. You can request a copy of these safeguards from us.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You may also ask us to restrict the processing. You may object to processing based on our legitimate interest, or request the transfer of data that you have provided to us yourself. Send a message to info@bluemerlin.nl; we will respond within one month.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Security

This website is offered exclusively over a secure connection (https). Data you enter in the form is transmitted encrypted to our form service.
